The Pole Position Method
4 steps to accelerate your business towards the finish line.
My methodology is simple but effective. It’s all about finding the gap between where you are and where you want to be and making small changes to finetune each process within the machine, so that your business can reach optimum performance. In 4 simple steps, I’ll help you reach your full potential and drive your business into a winning position.
Calibration
The first phase of the Pole Position Method is all about finding the gaps in your business. Often, we’ll do some personal or business exercises to help me get a picture of where you are now. A bit like F1 qualifying, this will help me to see where your business stands in comparison to its competitors. By the end of this first step, we’ll know what your starting position looks like.
Vision
If you can’t visualise the finish line, you won’t have the motivation to start the race. The vision phase of my work is all about helping you work out not only where you want to be, but why. I take a holistic approach, looking at both personal and business aspirations to help you achieve the productivity and work-life balance you deserve.
For many of my clients, this is the point where Motivational Maps come in, but for others, it’s simply an opportunity to refocus on the things that made them want to start a business in the first place. Pole position looks different for every person, and it might change throughout our lives, but with the right strategies in place, it is attainable.
Plan
Once we have a clear view of the finish line, it’s time to reverse engineer a plan that will help us get there. I don’t believe in overcomplicating things, so I like to help you create a simple playbook for each aspect of the business, offering you a clear, structured route to the end of the race.
It’s all about finding fractional differences – the tiny tweaks to different procedures that make a major difference to the way your business runs. Making small changes to your everyday practices has a major cumulative effect. You’ll quickly see your business edging its way to the front of the pack, without having to totally overhaul the whole framework.
Execution
Execution is often the hardest part of the process. Sticking to your guns and pushing forward when the going gets tough is much easier said than done. At this stage, my role is to provide you with some accountability, making sure that you stay on track through every twist in the road. When you’re on the ground, working on your business day-to-day, it’s easy to get bogged down with each little bump on the track to success. Having an external contact like me, with a helicopter view, will help you to see the bigger picture and push through for a podium finish.
